KROST Certified Public Accountants & Consultants Internship Program
Krost CPAs’ internship program is geared towards college students who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting and seeking an entry into the public accounting world. The internship program strives to prepare students for a career in public accounting by strengthening their tax or accounting foundation through practical application of knowledge gained through college courses as well as knowledge gained during the internship.
We are currently looking for audit, accounting, and tax interns for Summer. Summer interns will be working a full-time schedule. This internship is not remote, interns will be working out of our offices during the entire internship period.
Internship Curriculum/Training
During the course of the internship, students will gain valuable training and work experience. Below are some day-to-day responsibilities:
- Help prepare individual and corporate tax returns
- Tax planning
- Assist with the preparation of various miscellaneous tax forms for business clients
- Learn tax compliance
- Assist on research and consulting projects, calling the FTB & IRS
- Bookkeeping
- Review and organize incoming client documents
- Transactional accounting entry and review
- Bank reconciliations (performed in excel and various accounting software)
- Trial balance review and imports
- Assist in preparing financial statements
- Create amortization schedules
- Assist with substantive audit testing of several audit assertions
- Assist with the documentation process of organizational files as part of the audit and review field work
- Hands on training with several accounting and tax software programs
- Build a strong tax or accounting foundation through projects and engagements
- Assist with the preparation of various miscellaneous tax forms for business clients
- Learn tax compliance, assist on research and consulting projects
Internship Requirements
- Current student pursuing degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Minimum Overall GPA 3.0
- Minimum Major GPA 3.2
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient English language communication skills
- A demonstrable plan for CPA eligibility and passing the CPA exam
Salary range: $23.00 - $25.00/hour
